Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Have you noticed the recent trend in chopping off all your hair? Maybe you are one of them.  I am adoring the amazing styles out there. From the pixie to the bob to the a-line to a basic blunt cut, everyone is showcasing fresh looks worth a double take.
Keira knightley with short hair
Kiera Knightly glamorizes the pixie!

Classy Layers done right.

This cut has a magical appeal - long in front and super short in back - ability to work multiple looks.
How to Style Bangs
This style is bob worthy, with the extra ability to work in the bangs. (ideal for those of us with high foreheads).

Hair is one of our best accessories, so take some time to bring out the style in what nature gave you.

Dressing for the Races

Have you ever experienced a real 'day at the races'? With my husband coming from English descent, I hold these traditional sports dear to my heart. In fact, we are very much set on introducing my daughter, May, to Polo as soon as possible.
If wondering what one wears to 'the races', a Polo match or any other great traditional English sport, today is your day to be enlightened.

Belladonna Marie: Embrace the Rain

Belladonna Marie: Embrace the Rain

Embrace the Rain

One can't run away from the weather, so why not embrace it.  Looks like this week's forecast is bringing us nothing but rain, so prepare to look fabulous with the following pieces:
Whether you call them rainboots, wellies or galoshes, these are sure to be the best pick-me-up addition to rainy style days.

Joules carries unique styles that will keep style fresh and personal (on sale at $75). However, for a more budget-appealing pocketbook, department stores like Target and Khols have great selections.

It doesn't really matter what you throw together for an outfit. Covering up with a beautiful raincoat is a must. Picking one with a fitted waist will flatter the body, while keeping you completely dry.
Women's Ruffle-Front Raincoat
This Perriwinkle Ruffle-front coat by Travel Smith makes a perfect piece for on the go - comfortable, tasteful and easily folds up into your tote.

Last, but not least, topping the look off with a fashionable hat, to keep rain off the face, will complete our rain-embraced style. Brim and bucket hats work best.

This hat designed to be rainproof can be found at Bonnet Boutique on NW 11th, in Portland, OR.

Walking the Dog

Do you ever feel like you just don't know what to wear for specific occasions? For instance, what do you wear when hiking, or walking the dog? Trips like this call for easy garments that still pull off chic, but are extremely comfortable and workable for activity.

Separates like these should inspire (Halogen Blouse, Cardigan and Capris)...Take this look and tone it down.

Haute Hippie Chiffon Trim Cardigan               Classiques Entier Atelier Collared Cardigan with Belt

Romantic...Ah

If wondering whether Romantic style is your cup of tea, take a look at these inspirational pieces I found. These are some of my favorite pics for all things Romantic -
How does a romantic accessorize?
Vintage Crystal Lei Necklace - Pearl Knit Anything with crystals and pearls makes me happy! These are designed by Amanda Pearl.
How does a romantic dress?

One of my newly-found favorite designers. These looks could kill, politely.
Chris Benz pulls the stops when it comes to dressing you like a lady. See for yourself at http://www.chris-benz.com/.
How does a romantic decorate?

This inspires the home. Although I don't want to place a million chandeliers in my home, I will definitely take the crystals, pearls and light as a way to bring subtle romance into various rooms of the home.
I must say...one can't really have too many chandeliers - just make sure you have the room for them. :)

How does a romantic eat?

Spice Cupcakes with Cream Frosting.
Forever sweet and amazingly delicious...the food we eat looks almost as good as we do! Compliments of my favorite chef - Bethenny Frankel.

Making it Work

This is my own work.i took it myself,so feel f...Image via Wikipedia
Somedays...no matter how fashionable one may feel inside, it is challenging to put it together on the outside. Today, the sun has graced us with its presence. Take advantage of these seldom days and put some color on. Whether it is a blazer, a sweater, or some amazing cropped pants, make a statement with the color.
Top selections on my list, for warm weather this year, are violet purple, sky blue, all variations of reds and pinks and my very favorite, Kelly green. If at a standstill of where to start, take inspiration from nature. The colors are finally coming out, and there are so many too choose from.
As always, have fun with it!

Jay Blue Steals Spring Color Scene

If you didn't notice, when watching this year's awards shows, Jay blue is the color that's making all the headlines.  I absolutely love that this color is on trend. With blue being one of my go to colors, to match my blue eyes, Jay is such an extraordinary shade of blue.  If unsure of this color's true form - think Jay birds. Not only is this color spot-on for style, but also works with practically every skin color. Yeah!  It won't be hard to find while shopping, but check out your own closets while you are at it.  I am sure there is something in there worthy to rock this color all spring long. Have fun with it!!
(Picture below is a casual tank - just to show you the actual shade to look for.)

Food Frenzy taking over Fashion

Peanut M&M'sImage via Wikipedia
Do you ever find yourself taking one too many handfuls of M&Ms or Potato Chips? If so, you are definitely not alone.  When food seems to take over and make a mess of your fashionable looks, don't stress. Don't get me wrong, this shouldn't be an everyday habit, but there are definitely great ways to make one feel comfortable, and still pull of fashion-worthy looks.

First, thing loose-fitting garments. With loungers and oversize blouses and sweaters, it shouldn't be hard to find something that works.  I suggest wearing a lounger that falls past the hips, giving you control of bombshell beautiful, while remaining completely comfortable. (Although pictured for summer weather, below, this garment works with denim or leggings, perfectly.) There are many too choose from, but I have my personal favorite, white. White is the non-color that makes every woman look beautiful, no matter the skin tone!

Spring Suprises

With the Spring season just around the corner, believe it or not, it is time to get those wardrobes ready.
If you are one to pack away spring clothes when winter rolls around, there is no better moment than now to pull those out and store winter away.
Today...we will discuss wardrobe refreshing. Lots of amazing trends are falling into stores right now. Look forward to seeing a 70s reinvented. Amazing wide-legged pants, bright-colored blouses, tea-length dresses and larger-than-life accessories.
I am loving the fact that wide-legged pants are in! Always a favorite in my wardrobe, I can now wear them proudly on trend.  Color choices are many, but white (a non-color) is actually my best pic. Think resortwear paired with 70's staples. Most garments of this era are extremely flattering to most body-types and 2011 has reinvented them to make them even more accessible and fashionable!
