Being Happy

"People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be." Abe Lincoln

We were at the beach last Saturday and we overheard a child say "This is the best day!".  Upon hearing this, my husband, Carl, and I talked about how great it is to hear someone say something positive.

Happiness is a state of mind.  You decided whether you want to make a positive situation out of one that may normally seem negative.  Isn't it great that we have the power to be happy whenever we want?

It is sunny in the Northwest today. We tend to live under the clouds and it is so easy to fall into the funk of what some people label 'depression, lack of motivation, being tired, gloom'.  On a day like this, I hope it encourages you to smile and appreciate. Even though we go through a multitude of 'gloomy' days, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel - the sun that decides to say hello.  Let this day be the happy that you need and allow for it to carry you through to the next one.

Happiness begins with you.
